Wordiz Privacy Policy

Wordiz is a Greek-language study app built to work primarily offline. This policy explains what data the app handles, where it lives, and when it leaves your device.

Data stored on your device

Wordiz stores your study data locally in an on-device database, including:

• Vocabulary you save, along with definitions, translations, and notes
• Texts you import or write for reading practice
• Practice history and progress
• App settings and preferences

This data is not uploaded to any Wordiz-operated server. It stays on your device and in your device's backups (e.g. iCloud/Google backup, governed by Apple's or Google's own policies), unless you delete the app.

Sign in with Apple

If you choose to continue with Apple during onboarding, we request your name and email from Apple solely to personalize the app (e.g. greeting you by name). This information is stored locally on your device only — Wordiz does not operate an account system or server that receives it.

AI-assisted features

Certain features (word enrichment, translations, conversation practice, and image/text analysis) send the relevant input — text, a photo, or audio — to Google's Gemini API for processing. This is necessary for those features to work. Data sent to Gemini is handled according to Google's own privacy terms. We do not send your full vocabulary library or study history to Gemini — only what's needed for the specific feature you're using in the moment.

Camera, microphone, and photo access

• Camera — used only when you choose to photograph Greek text for the learning assistant.
• Microphone — used only when you choose voice capture or speaking practice.
• Photo library — used only when you choose to analyze an existing photo for Greek text.

None of these are accessed in the background or without your explicit action.

What we don't do

• No analytics or tracking SDKs
• No advertising or ad networks
• No selling or sharing of your data with third parties for marketing purposes
• No account required to use the app

Your choices

You can delete individual saved words or your entire library at any time from within the app. Deleting the app removes all locally stored data (subject to any device backups you've made).
